Started in academic year 1998-99, the Government Law College 'On Campus Recruitment Programme' is one of the first and only recruitment programme organized amongst Law Colleges in Bombay.

What started with a handful of students today boasts of total strength of 57 dedicated members.

Our objective at the Placements Committee is to provide good employment opportunities to our students. And for this end we have endeavored to get the best Law Firms, Corporates and Counsels to recruit our students.

Every year our College has a Placement Week during which the prospective employers interview students.

Earlier Sydenham collage students Used to be housed at Manek House, Near Kemp's Corner, the students of the Institute Of Science and those of Government Law College used to stay at the Telang Memorial Hostel, 'C' Road, Churchgate.In order to accommodate students from Government Colleges at one place near Churchgate, perhaps the government thought of constructing the present structure.

INDOOR GAMES
Hall on the first floor is reserved for indoor games. In this hall two Tennis Tables, Two Carom Bords and one Chess Board are available for the residents of the Hostel. Timing- 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.

MEDICAL FACILITY :-
A visiting doctor is available for an hour every day (four days in a week). The hostel supplies some urgently needed medicines free of cost. Each patient, however, has to pay Rs.5per consultation and has to buy the prescribed medicines, which are not available in the dispensary. Injection charges are Rs. 5/- per injection

READING ROOM:-
This room provides the facility of reading the newspapers and magazines for the residents. Newspapers are available in the reading room while the magazines are available with the watchmen of the hostel. While taking the magazine the resident has to make an entry in the register kept with the watchmen. Newspapers and magazines are not allowed to take in the room.

CLEANING AND OTHER SERVICES :-
Rooms are swept by hamals while the sweepers clean the lavatories every day.
On every Tuesday the entire hostel is cleaned with phenyl and acid.

The Nani Palkhivala Memorial National Tax Moot Court Competition
India's first and only moot court competition devoted exclusively to the subject of Tax Law. The competition is hosted by the MCA in association with the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) Bar Association and the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP). This competition gives the students a unique opportunity to argue in the ITAT Courtrooms before the Hon'ble members of the ITAT. The Final Rounds of the competition are adjudged by three sitting Judges of the Bombay High Court. The competition will be held from 16th - 18th October, 2008.

The Moot Court Association has been hosting the M. C. Chagla Memorial City-Level Moot Court Competition for the past eight years. Owing to the overwhelming response we have received from law colleges across Mumbai the competition will now be opened to law colleges from across the state of Maharashtra. This venerated Moot Court Competition is organized in memory of Late Mr. M. C. Chagla, the first Indian Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court and a Professor of Constitutional Law at the Government Law College. The Government Law College is pleased to announce the M. C. Chagla Memorial Government Law College State Moot Court Competition to be held on 23rd & 24th January, 2009.

The Government Law College State Marathi Moot Court Competition
The Moot Court Association of Government Law College has been hosting the 'Government Law College City-Level Marathi Moot Court Competition' for the past 6 years. The overwhelming participation from students and with a view to promote the Marathi language the Moot Court Association thought it befitting to take the competition to the next level and organize the competition at the State Level. This competition enjoys the distinction of being the only moot court competition in the country conducted in a regional language - Marathi. The competition will be conducted on 27th & 28th February, 2009.

Sir Jamshedji Kanga City -Level Moot Court Competition
This Moot is hosted by the MCA in association with the Rotary Club of Mumbai in memory of the Late Sir Jamshedji Kanga- an eminent Jurist.The competition will be held on 5th & 6th March, 2010
