Narula Institute of Technolgy was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri Buddhadeb Bhattacharya on August 17th 2001, Hon'ble Minister of Higher Education, Sri Satya Sadhan Chakraborty also graced the occasion.

The institutes aims at providing high quality technical and professional education to the budding engineers and professionals by exposing them to the expanding horizon of techno-economic knowledge, giving the ambience needed for developing requisite technical and managerial skills for making a mark of excellence in the industrial arena.

Recognizing the societal change from labour-intensive work to knowledge-intensive work, The institute also aims at giving proper emphasis to the need of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, cross-culture understanding, communication, computing and career development as part of lifelong learning in the context of constant advancement of technology.
