Five Academic Blocks house the different departments. The administrative building "Dr.Mahalingam Vigyan Bhavan" is an architectural beauty and a land mark in Coimbatore. The management has invested more than Rs. 800 million for the creation of state of the art infrastructural facilities. Currently the college offers 12 under-graduate (B.E., B.Tech.), 13 post-graduate (M.E., M.Tech., MCA, MBA) as an Autonomous institution affiliated to the Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore. The college has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and all the eligible UG programs have also been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). In addition, KCT has also been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of UGC. ISO 9001:2000 certification adds another feather to the crown of the Institution. The college has 15 academic departments and 4 research centres each headed by a competent and experienced professor. Altogether the college has over 269 well-qualified teaching staff and about 251 supporting technical staff. The combined student intake during current year is 1179 and the total number of students on roll is 3738. A comprehensive accidental insurance scheme covers all. The value of the education and training imparted by the college is highlighted by interest shown by leading companies for on-campus recruitment. In the current academic year (2009-2010) more than 460 students have been placed in through their Placement centre. their alumni have done us proud by proving their worth in their chosen field of work.

The main aim of the central library is to provide information services and access to print and e-resources to support the scholarly and informational needs of the institute community. The fully computerized central library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, print and e-journals, CD-ROMs, on-line databases, audio video cassettes and project reports etc. Open Access System is being followed in the central library.
