It was established by the E G S Pillay & Sons Educational and Charitable Trust, Nagapattinam in the year 1995 with the sanction of the Government of Tamilnadu, approval of the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliation to Bharathidasan University , Tiruchirapalli. Its courses are affiliated to Anna University , Chennai . from 2002 and the degrees are awarded by Anna University , as per the Government Orders. Placement and Training Cell of the College provides guidance and counseling services to the students, which bring in the students and the Potential employer together and arranges for a placement. A good number of students have been benefited by the service provided by the cell.
The College has a vast campus spread over 35 acres of land with adequate infrastructure facilities and resourses for various educational programmes, administrative functions and extension services effectively. Students admitted as residents will be allotted rooms from among those available at the discretion of the Chief Warden or Deputy Wardens. Students shall occupy only the rooms allotted to them. If a resident occupies a room other than the one allotted to students will render himself/herself liable for disciplinary action and in addition may be required to pay rent for both the rooms. The Chief warden and Deputy Warden may shift any resident from one room to another without assigning any reason.
Radios, TVs and other electrical appliances must not be used without the prior permission of the Deputy Warden.
