DIBNS was established in 2002-2003 amidst the developing scope of medical colleges and hospitals in Asia & Europe on the forecast of WHO which laid great stress on generating more biomedical professions. DIBNS commitment was evident by the large capital investment on Land, building, Global standard research oriented Laboratories with worlds most advance testing & Research equipments and above all on its Human resource in the beginning itself. DIBNS was promoted by the Dolphin educational society of India, a registered society under the Indian society registration Act 1860.
Just as the above adage has stood the test since the immemorial, we have set out on our path breaking effort to harmonize education in the midst of heavenly environs of renowned city of Dehradun.
The Placement and Training cell also provides the formal support base for placement of final year students. The support services that it offers are in the form of arranging campus interviews, grooming students to face the final test of their knowledge. The institute is equipped with a conference hall for holding pre-placement discussions and well furnished rooms for conducting interviews. The Placement Office is fully computerized; it uses desktop computers and Institute LAN facility for placement data handling and communication.

Institute premises are housed in well spread campus of more than seven acres. The buildup area is more than one lac fifty thousand square feet. It provides spacious and well furnished class rooms and specialized laboratories. These include three laboratories each for biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry and physiotherapy departments. Two pathology laboratories, two chemistry laboratories and one laboratory each for the department of botany, zoology, anatomy, computers and forestry.
The campus is unique in having Wi-Fi facility giving instant e-connectivity to the Dolphin library and the world wide web.

The concern for students is not limited to academics alone but also to ensure proper, hygienic and comfortable accommodation with separate hostels for girls and boys, which are managed on no-profit, no-loss basis. The girl's hostel provides accommodation on twin sharing arrangement with attached bath cum toilets with every room having 24 hours water supply. It has hygienic dining facilities. The girl's hostel is fully Wi-Fi providing easy inter-net access to the resident students within the confines of their rooms.
