B.M.S College for Women is an offshoot of B.M.S. Educational Trust. It is one of the prestigious institutions located in the south of Bangalore city. The college was established by late Sri. B.S. Narayan, son of Dharma Prakasha Rajakarya Prasaktha Sri. B.M. Sreenivasaiah under the B.M.S Educational Trust in 1964, to cater to the educational needs of ‘Women’. A strict disciplinarian, a mentor and a guide Late Sri. B.M. Krishnan, I.A.S., was the founder Principal.

The institute is functioning well since its inception in the year 1999. Its objective is to give useful information and suggestions regarding career plans and job opportunities. It arranges interviews for students from different companies and organizations for their placements. It also organizes workshops and presentations for the students in different fields to develop soft skills to face interviews, group discussion and competitive examination with confidence. Many students have been placed in multinational companies through campus selection.

Library:
The college library is housed on the First floor in a spacious block right above the administrative block, with a separate reading room and a reference section. There are more than 35,000 books, nearly forty four magazines and thirty three journals are available for students to browse through. There is also a facility for providing books to SC / ST students by the Bangalore University. The college is a member of the British Council Library and is eligible to borrow books, video tapes etc., which can help the students enrich their knowledge.
