Strategies to Crack Engineering Competitive Exams

The entrance dates are getting closer, and students start getting butterflies in their stomach. No rest, no sleep, but only stress. No, this should not be the way to face the competitive exams. Be it IIT JEE or AIEEE, you must find the solution to face the exam with confidence. Please study these following strategies carefully and get ready to face the exam without fear.

•    Understand the Exam: It’s the first and foremost thing you should do before trying to crack it. Every paper is designed with a purpose. You should dwell deep into the paper and “crack its secret.” Put yourself in the shoes of the examiner and analyze what you are trying to get out of each question. The only way to do this is to get hands-on practice with many papers. Unless you understand it yourself, you will not be able to proceed further. Of course, you can take the help of your teachers.

•    Study, Study and Study and Avoid Cramming At The Last Moment: Entrance exams like IIT JEE and AIEEE are designed to test mainly the level of understanding of the concepts. Simple knowledge of the topics may not help you deal with the questions. The first thing to do is to learn the basics well. Once the basics are clear, you can try attempting the questions relevant to that topic. With more practice, you will be able to crack questions with any difficulty level.

•    Do Not Go Beyond The Syllabus: IIT JEE and AIEEE are designed on the syllabus for Class 11 and 12. There’s no need to study further as it would mean waste of time. Instead, you should get prepared with every minute details mentioned in your syllabus so that you are able to crack any question. However, that doesn’t mean that you should avoid extra reading. Extra reading is a must, and you should read the maximum from all sources, but remember to stick to the topics mentioned in your syllabus.

•    Do Not Be Selective: The “Selection” strategy may work in Boards, but never apply that strategy in competitive exams. There’s no specific pattern in these exams, and it’s up to the examiner to change the way the questions are put. Be prepared to face any question from any corner of your book. Pay attention to even the minutest details.

Those who follow the above mentioned strategies religiously shouldn’t face any problem with cracking IIT JEE or AIEEE. They will feel confident and relaxed during the exam as well.
